How To Keep The Evaporative Air Cooler FUNGUS FREE?
Hello Readers, as we all know, in this era of dangerous diseases good hygiene is the first priority when it comes to staying healthy.
After All, HEALTH IS TRUE WEALTH, Right?
In this article, we are going to discuss how to keep your air cooler FUNGUS FREE.
We will also talk about which are the favorable and possible times and conditions for fungus to grow and attack your hygiene.
Without proper care, portable evaporative coolers, which are also known as swamp coolers, can become a favourable place for mold and fungus.
This type of infection grows and stays in dark, damp areas with stagnant air and can cause a wide range of respiratory problems for people exposed to them. But the good part is keeping your portable evaporative air cooler fungus-free is not too hard but so easy with some simple maintenance and preventative measures. Let’s know them!
PREVENTING FUNGUS AND MOLD IN PORTABLE EVAPORATIVE COOLERS.
The 1ST and the best way to prevent the fungus from growing in your cooler is to make sure you only run it on dry days. Generally, humidity spikes in the late summer, during near the monsoon season. Running of humid air through the cooling pads prevents the water in the unit from evaporating and raises the risks of an infection. Note the humidity levels in your area. They go up fast. Switch your evaporative cooler into fan mode whenever you see it happening to prevent bad hygiene.
Cleanse The Bacterias Out of Your Evaporative Cooler.
Remember, If your evaporative cooler is infected, the first sign will probably be the bad smell. Fungus spores emit a musty or fishy odor and often trigger asthma attacks, pneumonia, and allergic reactions, especially children and elderly people.
To make the cooler bacteria-free, you’ll need to clean out the cooling pads and the water tank. Drain the cooler and remove the cooling pads. You’ll need to submerge them in a mixture of water and lemon juice for 30 -60 seconds. Citric acid works great at breaking down mold and eliminating mold spores. Vinegar works just as well, but the smell can soak into your cooling pads and can be very difficult to remove. And once the pads have been thoroughly soaked, rinse them thoroughly and then set them aside to dry. Don’t forget to dry them completely before you put them back in the cooler.
Maintenance During Winter.
Usually, coolers are not at all used during any days in winter, not even in too cozy places. When coolers are left alone all winter the condition also offers good conditions for fungus. To keep it from growing, always clean the tank and the cooling pads before storing it away, and make sure you store the cooler somewhere dry. When you are ready to reuse and unpack it again, clean out the pads and the tank one more time to remove any fungal spores that may have developed in the winter season.
